Q4 Evaluation

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

In conclusion, i created a video stating what my audience and I personally thought I had done well, but also what I didn't do so well on for my A2 Media Coursework of creating a poster, magazine front cover featuring my film along with a film trailer for 'Hear My Cry', also what my personal thoughts on my target audience's findings and lastly what I'd do differently in the future if I was to do another production. Below is a video of me explaining...

I created a mood board from comedies that inspired me and influenced me strongly if i was to create a comedy in the future. 'Step Brothers' by Adam McKay released in 2008 i find effective as it contains the convention of a 'man child' played by Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, the narrative of the two boys being marginalised males from the theory of Connell empathises the idea of a stereotypical hegemonic male. Will Ferrell is well-known for comedies like 'Elf' by Jon Favreau. I believe comedies that i personally find effective contain strong language and sexual scenes as it's adult humour which is it's main target audience.

Q3 Evaluation

What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

While completing my A2 Media coursework i recieved feedback on my work throughout. The first piece of coursework i recieved was on the idea of the basic plot of my film and my blog. recieved mainly positive feedback about the layout and idea, also how they feel i could make it effective towards my target audience. However, that i could need to do more research on horror and thriller films to get an more in-depth idea of how to improve my idea itself.

I also recieved various feedback on my ancillary tasks from both my peers and lecturer, i found this overly helpful as i feel it helped me improve massively. Firstly i created the poster on the left hand side of the screen, how're the feedback i recieved was mainly negative due to the title, 'Hear My Cry' being too small therefore it wouldn't stand out to my target audience and other horror posters, also the colour scheme is dull and looks unprofessional. However, i then modified my poster into the one on the right hand side of the screen. I opted to completly change it and go with a dark background with a beam of light to represent the light the young girl is trying to reach for which is the after life but can carry on till she gets justice. Posters usually contain a main model at a medium/close-up point of view shot to catch the audience eye, therefore i resulted in following this particular convention and using dark makeup to empathize the horror genre for the audience, i also modified the style of the title to a hand written one to make it feel more scary for the audience to look at when viewing my poster. I also created a basic colour scheme of mainly black, white and red. i done this so people are able to easily regconise my film but also to make it look professional. I recieved mainly positive feedback on this particular poster, like they thought the colour scheme was overly effective and the layout was appropriate as it is basic and stands out. Alternatively i did recieve some negative feedback on the image as it was cut out on photoshop they believe the edge of the model is sharpe and looks unrealistic. Taking into accord all of the feedback i recieved i then modifed my poster for a final time into the final product. I reieved all positive feedback about how effective the image and concept behind the main image was, also that it looked very professional and they would want to go and see the film at the cinemas. This made me feel happy and proud of myself as i tried extremely hard.

I also created a magazine front cover featuring my film, 'Hear My Cry'. The first product i created was the image on the left hand side of the screen. I again, similar to my poster recieved mostly negative feedback as i opted to use the same image as my poster and especially my lecturer thought this was uncommon on a film magazine front cover as they often change the image, also they thought the image wasn't very effective towards the target audience, i did recieve some positive feedback about this specific piece which was the layout of the front cover looked rather professional. After taking into account both the positive and negative feedback i modified my magazine cover into the one on the right. I changed the main image into a close-up point of view shot so the audience feel threatened in a way, but also like she is looking directly at them for help, giving them an indicating of the basic plot of the narrative. I chose a black and white effect as it relates to the horror genre and make it feel more scary to look at. Everything else like the colour scheme, layout and sub-heading i kept the same as i recieved positive feedback on those. Once i done the changed my feedback was again all positive as they found it looked very realisitic and effective, saying they would want to buy the magazine itself. I particulary recieved positive feedback on this specific image as it creates suspense and tension for the audience.

I interviewed various members of my target audience to get mixed feedback to represent what they found effective, how i could improve if i was to do this particular task again but also inital opinions on setting and characters. I asked them various questions like;
  • What genre do you think my products are?
  • What makes you think this?
  • How have I met your expectations of this genre?
  • Have I used archetypal characters successfully?
  • How do you feel when you watch the trailer?
  • How effective is the setting?
  • How effective is the title of my trailer, 'Hear My Cry'?
  • Was the print work relevant to the film itself?
  • What was your favourite piece of my coursework the poster, the magazine cover or the film trailer?
Below is a clip of one of my target audience answering the questions I asked...

I asked some of my target audience to write one word on a piece of paper to describe their personal opinions on the whole of my coursework including the poster, magazine cover featuring my film and the film trailer of 'Hear My Cry' and these were the results i received which were all positive...

Q2 Evaluation

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

For this particular evalutation i created a prezzi to explain various points about why i chose the genre horror, how i applied it to my coursework of a video trailer, a poster and a magazine fron cover featuring my film, 'Hear My Cry', but also how i incorproated particular aspects from my medium to my print work and then explained why i did so and the effects of this.

Q1 Evaluation

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My media product uses various forms and conventions of a real media as i have incorporated the 'Blumler and Katz' theory, 'uses and gratifications' as i personally believe the use of personal identity and personal relationships can closely link to my horror/thriller trailer, 'Hear My Cry'.You will often find this specific theory in other horror/thriller films such as J. Miles Dale and Barbara Muschietti 'Mama' released in 2013 and James G. Robinson 'Dream House'.
The use of the conventions 'personal identity' and 'personal relationship', in my particular film it allows the audience to create relationships with various characters featuring in my film in means of an escape, but also form an identity. This may happen because of various reasons such as a viewer being able to relate and being able to sympathise, due to a personal experience that may have occurred in their life. For example a viewer who has been bullied both mentally and physically during school, will sympathise with the main character in my film, 'Hear My Cry' as she is victimised throughout her whole childhood both by her peers at school and by her drunken father back at home. However, my aim in the trailer is to promote the significance of bullying and the consequences.
 Another convention in my film is 'The (magical) helper', from 'Propp's Theory', this is a character who helps the hero in a particular quest. This is
shown by 'Jessica Chastin' in 'Mama' as she helps the hero of the film save the two young girls from the villian, Mama. In my case, it is the young girl who is murdered seeking justice by finding out and getting her murderer caught so she can finally leave to go to the afterlife. I personally find these conventions significant and effective in a horror/thriller film, as without them, the film itself wouldn't be as exciting and create thrills for the audience when watching. I also intertextually linked the two young female characters, for example the popular female (Emily) who has a wide variety of friends and is a typical 'Final Girl' which includes the characteristics such as intelligent, blonde, innocent and everyone basically loves her, which is juxtaposed to her best friend (Annie) who is bullied by her fellow peers at school due to being a social

outcast for her 'geeky' looking appearance. I also included forms and conventions from films such as 'Lovely Bones' where the villain murders the main female protagonist without targeting anyone close to her, so it is more direct  and scary as it makes the audience question why. However, this links into the name of my film, 'Hear My Cry' as she feels isolated and seeks help from her only best friend.
I took a lot of consideration while actually choosing the cast members and deciding what costume they should wear as I wanted to connote the ideology of the stereotypical characters within a horror/thriller film following the typical conventions. I resulted in using causal  everyday clothes to make the trailer feel more realistic towards the target audience, but also like the murderer is unexpected. My media product also uses forms and conventions from 'The cabin in the woods', this is when Annie is in the forest and is murdered, this occurs to the character (Anna Hutchinson) from 'The Cabin in the Woods' when she present in the forest when murdered.
The binary opposition, of (Anna Hutchinson) and (Annie) is, Anna is a stereotypical 'loved-up character' as she is
present with her partner at the scene of death, alternatively, Annie is mainly portrayed as a 'female victim' as she is presented as vulnerable and in need of protection. However, I did develop this particular convention because my scene had a path way due to the fact I was unable to find a forest without one in time for shooting, also it refers to the fact the murderer may had led her to where he wanted the crime to be committed.
I thought choosing a character who looked rather similar to the character that Anna Hutchinson plays in 'The Cabin in the Woods' wouldn't be as effective towards the audience as they play completely opposite character roles within a horror film. Below is a rough link to the clip of the scene of Annie running into the forest.

Above are various aspects presented within my trailer for 'Hear My Cry', the nine frames represent the trailer title, which is hand written and then coloured in red to create more effective towards the target audience as it also creates tension and relates to the horror/thriller genre, the two main characters that feature in my trailer, the young girl who is mysterious murdered and her only best friend, two shots of the settings, a dark isolated forest where she is murdered and lastly two shots showing the the title at the end of the film 'Hear My Cry' but also 'Based on a true story' which will hopefully encourage the audience to want to come and get the full experience of the film at the cinema.

My Horror/Thriller Trailer

Here is the end product of my horror/thriller trailer, 'Hear My Cry'.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-kuT75-JA8&feature=youtu.be&safe=active

My Image

 Here is an image of the main model within my horror/thriller trailer 'Hear My Cry'. i particularly like this specific pose as she looks scared from her murderer however still encouraging herself to be brave like she is in the trailer by seeking justice, this foreshadows to the audience and hopefully makes them want to come and watch the film at the cinema. The effect of black and white empathises the use of positive and negative connotations within the trailer itself, good that she is an innocent child who finally seeks justice, alternatively bad that she is murdered. The dark make-up makes the image look more realistic and relate to the situation of been murdered, along with the dark eyes to show the rough process. I practised the make-up to show which one i personally thought was more effective and i do believe this one is as it isn't to intense and not realistic however she has some to support the situation.

Generic Conventions of a thriller

Generic Conventions of a Thriller/Horror Movie;

I personally believe the main significant reason target audiences watch horror/thriller movies is for excitment, by witnessing situations that don't often occur within every day life. A main generic convention that will occur within my film is investigations and 'who done it' as the target audience of my film 'Hear My Cry', will be constantly curious of who murdered the young girl, making acusations that may or may not actually be true. I aim to challenge the 'death-trap' and 'stalking' conventions as it gives a brief over view of some suspects by none to where they know excatly who the murderer is. 'paranoria' and 'obsession' will be present within my film as she is paranoid that her best friend is talking to her once dead relating to the supernatural element creating mystery, however the convention of 'obsession' will play a huge role as her and her best friend are obsessed with seeking justice by getting her murderer caugh, but is her murderer obsessed with killing?
My main aim on creating the film is to constantly create thrills and excitement for the audience to feel, again the tension will uprise when the main character is in menacing situation. Lastly, i will stick the scenes been set within ordinary subarbs.

Time Management

TIME MANAGEMENT;

I personally feel my time management is acceptable as i have completed a horror/thriller trailer for my film 'Hear My Cry', along side a poster and front page of a magazine cover featuring my actual film, all on time and in before easter half term. Now, i am able to concentrate on completing my evaluation for my overall A2 media coursework. I hope to have this done within a four week time period, May 2nd 2013. i do personally feel this is appropriate as this is all i have to concentrate on completing to the best of my ability.

Target Audience

My Target Audience;

The target audience for my horror/thriller film, 'Hear My Cry' directly influenced me as the majority of people going to get the full experience at the local cinema will be approximately 15+ therefore as they still in education they will have witnessed some form of bullying or maybe committed the crime themselves, or even been a victum. Hopefully creating a more personal relationship with one of the characters within the film as they have experiened a similar situation themselves. If a bully does watch the film, my personal aim is to modify the way they think about their actions on doing so, i aim to make them change and stop bullying innocent victums for humour or to 'look cool', but to get a insight into how the victum actually feels, but also that something more serious may be going on back at the home and you as the bully may be making it even harder for them even though they think it's funny to do so. I believe by doing this it will raise the awareness of bullying and similar situations that occur in day to day life around you as the target audience that you may not of actually noticed before watching the film.

MY FINAL MAGAZINE COVER

This is my final product of a magazine cover featuring my film, 'Hear My Cry'. I used a black and white image as i find them overally effective towards the target audience as it creates tension and shows something negative is likely to take place within the film. The pose of the girl is a rather timid, scared one however she shows authority relating to the film as she was helpless when she was murdered however she is staying strong and trying to get justice by having her murderer locked up in prison. The title of the magazine 'Total film' helps the audience identify what magazine this one is, hopefully helping me sell my film as it is a well-known magazine. I decided to keep the blood spot stain in a similar place so it represents my film and becomes a symbol helping people recognise 'Hear My Cry'. The sub headings of 'Extra...First Looks...Reviews' all make the magazine realistic towards the audience as a real magazine would contain these aspects. I included a circle so again represent a realistic magazine but also to make mine different from other typical ones. 'Hear My Cry' the title of my horror/thriller film is placed in exactly the same spot to again help the audience recognise my film followed by the slogan of 'A decade in the making.... (and) the world's greatest movie has finally arrived' this supports my film and gives an indication that it is going to be big in the media industry hopefully making the target audience want to come and watch my film at the cinema.

MY FINAL MOVIE POSTER

He is the final product of my movie poster for 'Hear My Cry'. I decided to keep the background of black and white to contrast the good and evil within the film itself, showing that both good and bad aspects apply throughout the whole thing, it is basically foreshadowing to the audience and influencing them to watch the full film itself. I placed the girl central as it is a significant main image within the page, however i opted to make the opacity of the image down to 55% so hopefully it is more effective as it symbolises she is dead but as she is still able to speak to her best friend and seeks help, she is still partly present to life but not fully represented by the opacity. The pose by the girl i final causes tension as she looks awfully scared as she has been brutally murdered and seeks justice, i also decided to have her half facing away so it looks like she is going but not fully disappeared yet. The fate blood spots appeared to show that death and murder does occur within the film itself, basically again foreshadowing events that take place without giving too much away and spoiling it for the viewer. 'Introducing Brogan Nicholson' is placed directly at the top of the page in white and a gothic font to again basically create tension and effect upon the audience, but also it shows she is a big star and this may make people want to come and watch the film at cinema expecting it to be good as all her other films are. 'Hear My Cry', is the title of the film and in hand written, red font to create a spooky, haunted effect but also to make my film distinctive from other horror/thriller films out at this particular time period, so mine stands out. The slogan of "Isolated, Lost, Alone", supports the other aspects present on the page as it indicates that more than likely the girl on the page is isolated and needs help, it gives a basic overview of the plot of the film. I used this particular colours on my movie poster as they are dark and represent death, however there is some light present to support the story line of her not been fully dead yet. The red,black and white colour scheme i am going to keep consistent as it looks professional but also people will be able to relate them colours to my movie, 'Hear My Cry'.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im6koyYDwcA&safe=active

I throughly believe this particular movie trailer for 'Evil Dead' is effective towards it's target audience as it uses frequent flashing scenes that create tension, both terror and horror is expressed in the trailer itself by the clever use of imagination. The characters, makeup and props used support the fact that the film genre is a horror as blood is used to represent death, hopefully scaring the viewer. The fact the producers have decided to a dialogue frequently to explain and give a basic overview of the plot of this specific film.

MY FINAL PRODUCT (MOVIE POSTER)

This is the final product of my movie poster featuring 'Hear My Cry', all i have changed was the background from a dark, gloomy forest, to a black and white strip to hopefully create more effect towards the target audience, i do believe it does this by creating both a negative and positive feeling towards the audience, giving indication that good and evil is present within the film itself. The black represents the cold, dark, isolated feeling the young girl feels both when dead and alive, however contrasting with that the white on the background represents the justice she is trying to find from hunting down her murderer and having him locked away in prison. Bar the background everything else i decided to keep the same as i found it effective, but also rather distinctive as i haven't seen another horror/thriller genre poster presented similar to mine.

'Hear My Cry' Target Audience

The genre of my film 'Hear My Cry' is a Thriller/Horror.

Target Audience;
Gender; Mainly Males
- I do personally believe males will enjoy this particular film more than females as stereotypically more males watch horrors than females.
Age; 15+
- The age rating is 15 as it contains gore, strong language and violence. Also the older generation may enjoy the plot of the film.
Social Group; Adventurous and Crime
- as it contains an element of both aspects. Adventurous as the young girl has to complete many obstacles she is faced with to get justice of having her murderer caught and locked up in prison. Also Crime as the murderer committed a crime of murdering a young girl and no-one knows who it is, there is scenes that represent an element of crime taking place.

Trailer Research

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZlY47eCdas&safe=active

This particular trailer of the new release 'Mama' i find overly effective towards the target audience, as it uses short, dark clips giving no indication of what is about to happen, this is to encouraging them to carry on watching to find out what is going to happen. The idea of having intense music which creates tension to support the genre of the film. The narrator explains the basic plot of the story about the girls been abandoned for five years in the wilderness, this gives the audience a basic overview of what the film itself is about. At the start it introduces all of the main characters so the audience can become familiar with them when they go to the cinema to watch the film itself. A various amount of dialogue is used throughout the trailer for example the women says 'I am not ready for this', this could make the viewer question, what is she not ready for? why is she not ready? who is she not ready for? etc, also 'Mama' is frequently expressed throughout the whole of the trailer, it is ironic as it is the title of the film, therefore this makes the viewer think who is mama?, what is mama? basically the idea of this technique is to make the target audience want to go to the cinema and watch the whole of the film to answer all of their requested questions. The particular part i throughly like about the trailer itself is the ending, as it speeds up raptly both the scenes presented and the music to create tension and show it is an intense film to watch, portrays itself as being a horror, supported by a loud scream.

Movie Poster for 'Hear My Cry'.

I have modified the final product of my movie poster to the above piece. I added a forest background to empathise the fact the young girl goes missing and is suspiciously murdered in these particular surroundings. I added a greeny effect to the image to represent envy of the young girl as she didn't want to be murdered and will do anything to see justice and have her murder caught. I decided to place her in the middle of the page, faded to indicate the fact that she has murdered but is still present by voice and will put up a fight to succeed and have her vicious murderer caught. 'Introducing Brogan Nicholson' is placed at the very top of the page to show she is a new actor staring in the film itself and hopefully this will make the audience want to go and watch the film at the cinema to get the full experience. 'Hear My Cry' is effective in my eyes as it is placed roughly in the middle of the page, representing she is stuck in the forest until she gets justice of her murderer being caught. The words i feel are overly relevant to the film and gives an indication that she is shouting out for someone, anyones help. The slogan of 'Isolated, Lost, Alone' again supports the plot of the film that the young girl is all three of them aspects and it empathises the fact she requires help from her one and only best friend.

Examples of thriller trailers

'Dream House'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIeMYPfnST0&safe=active

I like this particular trailer as i find the music creates tension which a thriller trailer is supposed to do for the audience hopefully making them want to go to the cinema and watch the film itself. Also the fact the scene rapidly switch showing parts of the film itself, indicate that something bad is likely to happen, creating suspense. I like the fact the producer decided to introduce all the main characters in the trailer so the audience are aware of them ad who to keep an eye on throughout the film. The scream a little way through the film is presented to show the thriller side of the trailer. Realistic settings are used throughout the trailer  so the audience is easily able to connect with the surroundings and feel more in depth with the film trailer itself. One of the main aspects i particularly like is the fact the producers flick from a scary to normal scenes frequently to keep the audience intrigued. The idea of writing constantly flicking onto the screen giving hints of what is going t happen again keeps the audience interested. The trailer ends with the title of the film 'Dream House' falling apart to show that the house isn't actually a dream house t live in its just irony as it is haunted in some way and actually a horrible place to live.

Graveyard Shot

I think this image of the girl sitting next to a grave is overly effective and i am planning on using a very similar shot. I have decided to have a dark background to make it look dark, but also to empathises the tension of the young girl being in a graveyard at her bestfriends grave, a light will be present on the girl and the grave to make them stand out from the dark, gloomy atmosphere, but also to indicate to the audience that something is about to happen, although they're are unaware of what. I decided to make the girl sit next to the grave with a sad expression on her face to show how much she is missing her best friend. The fact that this particular scene is set in a grave yard increases the tension that something is going to happen to the girl sitting beside the grave.

Forest Shot

I do happen to believe that the scene of Emily (the young girl) running into the dark gloomy forest is the most significant scene of my trailer as it indicates to the audience that something horrific and negative is going to happen but they're unsure on what that may be. I will shoot this particular scene in a similar way to the image shown below, as i find it overly effect. I really like the way the girl is at a distance like no-one is able to stop her, but still in sight to know that someone is behind her, and we don't know if she is going to be ok or not. Also i like how the tree surround her to highlight the gloomy, dark, eery atmosphere I am trying to create for the audience. Also her bright clothes make her stand out like she is unable to hide from the person chasing her, also because it is white indicates she is pure and innocent however tha goes against her as later she is defenceless and murdered  for what looks like no apparent reason.

Modifcation To Film magazine Front Cover

I modified the main image of my front cover film magazine featuring my film, from the same one as the poster to a extreme close up of Emily (the young girl who is murdered). I done this as i believe the other image was too similar and people may not find it as effect on both the poster and the magazine front cover. I do however believe this image instead is much more effect as it gives an insight into the pain Emily constantly feels throughout her life. I ike the black and white effect as it matches my colour scheme but also adds effect as it is unusual for a black and white image to be on a front cover however in these circumstances i do believe it is the most effect as she has no happiness left in her, relating to the film plot itself.

Video Shooting

Firstly my plan is for the trailer to start in a point of view, pan shot of a ticking clock following on to a teddy bear, newspaper and photos of the two young girls looking happy, showing to the audience something has happened to the pair, creating tension. Suddenly their is a jump cut to the young girl running off into darkness, a gloomy forest which creates suspense for the audience as they're unaware of why she is doing this but also what is about to happen to her, it is foreshadowing without giving the plot away fully, this will be filmed in an extreme long shot high angle to show she has little or no authority to her murdered. Another jump cut occurs to when a man, who they will later find out is her drunken father, shouting and screaming at her, again the audience is left puzzled as they don't have an idea on to why he is shouting. this scene will be filmed through the young girls eye, looking up to her father to hopefully make the audience feel in suspense and as if the father is shouting directly at them, making them feel how she must have felt, helping them connect more to the trailer itself. The scene shows the young girl against the wall hysterical because of her father actions of hitting her, it will shot in an extreme close up of her crying to show her emotion and make the audience sympathises with her. The screen will slowly fade into credits reading 'This Summer, Were fact... Becomes Reality, Based on a true story' is shown this will encourage the tension and make the viewer want to get the full experience by visiting the cinema and watching the film. An unexpected scene is presented upon the screen showing the young girl's best friend hugging her mother after she's just been told Emily (the young girl) has passed away in a mysterious death, relating back to the scene of her running into the dark, gloomy forest, this shot will be filmed at a long, high angle shot, as if Emily is looking down, watching her best friend. The next scene will be of her best friend at Emily's grave crying and upset to suddenly were the camera zooms into a close up shot of the best friends face to show her reaction of Emily trying to contact her for help of her killer so she can get justice. Suddenly a black screen appears and the writing 'COMING SOON, 2013 IN THEATRES THIS SUMMER' fades onto the screen.

Locations;
The first significant location will be the house to were Emily lives/ed, it will be a place the audience is able to connect with as it is overly realistic and normal to what they're usually used to, so they're able to connect to the trailer itself, but also will Emily the main character because of this particular scenery. It will be mainly filmed in dim light as it isn't a warming place to be in, also she gets abused by her father in this location and it creates tension for the audience as they know she feels extremely isolated hear.
The next significant place to feature within my thriller film trailer will be the forest, as it doesn't occur for long, however it has a significant part as this is were the main part of the story occurs as she is believed to have been murdered hear, and this sets the scene for the whole of the film. It will be filmed at night to create more suspense for the audience as the majority of bad situations occur at night in thriller/horror films. It is a place the audience are able to easily relate to as everyone is familiar with a forest.
The next important location of my film trailer is the grave yard as this is the first place Emily's best friend hears her seeking for help to find justice and finally rest in peace. Everyone is overly familiar with a grave yard somehow, again helping them connect to the film and make it feel more realistic for them in some way, both good and bad. This scene will be filmed round about tea time so the lighting is rather dark but there is still a light present to highlight the best friend at Emily's grave. Also this is ironic as it will signify to the viewer that something is likely to occur, but not give a clue of what it is.

Characters;
The main character of my film trailer is Emily, she will be a teenage girl who has had a rough childhood by being abused by her father and having no friends through all her school life. However she is an intelligent, polite girl. She finally makes friend with a girl and they become best friends until she is mysteriously murdered after running into the dark forest at night. However we as the viewer are unaware of who her murderer is. At the start of the trailer she will be wearing normal clean clothes that by the end, end up looking rough, raggy and dirty after being murdered. i will do this by covering them in mud and slightly ripping them, to show the audience she put up a fight from her murderer.
The next important character is Emily's best friend, she is the helper, as she helps Emily find justice from her murderer and finally rest in peace. she was always the popular girl throughout school and Emily was always jealous of her, as she was beautiful and everyone loved her. She tries her best to help her loyal best friend. throughout the trailer she will always be dressed nicely and clean.
The last character featuring within my film trailer is Emily's father, he is a drunk, abusive father who constantly mentally and physically abuses Emily. He has a rough, look to support his character role of being an alcoholic and having a nasty personality.
I personally believe the audience are able to relate to at least one of the main character within my thriller, film trailer as there is various stereotypes presented. This is important as if they feel like they're able to connect with various characters it will encourage them to come and watch the film at the cinema.

Schedule;
I am hopefully going to start doing parts of the shoot as soon as possible, doing little bits at a time, but also testing various angles out and setting to find the best and most effect. I will hopefully have the whole thing shot in two weeks to give me time to experiment with various similar locations, angles, times of day, lighting etc.

FLATPLAN - MAGAZINE

I CREATED A FLAT PLAN FOR MY FRON COVER OF A MAGAZINE FEATURING MY FILM 'HEAR MY CRY'. FIRSTLY I USED A WELL-KNOWN MAGAZINE COMPANY 'TOTAL FILM', I PLACED THE IMAGE OF THE YOUNG GIRL SLIGHTLY OVER THE TITLE AS THEY OFTEN DO WITHIN SOME OF THEIR MAGAZINES THEY CREATE. THE ISSUE DATE AND PRICE IS UNDER THE TITLE JUST LIKE IN A NORMAL MAGAZINE TO MAKE IT MORE PROFESSIONAL. Flatplan - Poster

I CREATED A FLAT PLAN FOR MY POSTER TO HELP ME IMAGINE THE FINAL PRODUCT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. AS DESCRIBED ON THE PAPER I HAVE STARS PRESENT AT THE TOP RIGHT AND LEFT HAND SIZE OF THE PAGE, IN WHITE, FONT STYLE OF ARIAL SO IT IS SIMPLE AND EASY TO READ. BLOOD SPOTS APPEARS FROM THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE PAGE IN A DARK FAINT RED SO THEY ARE VISABLE BUT IN A MYSTERIOUS MANNER. I DECIDED TO USE A DARK, GLOOMY BACKGROUND TO CREATE AN EERY ATMOSPHERE FOR THE AUDIENCE WHEN VIEWING MY POSTER OF THE FILM I WILL CREATE. A MEDIUM POINT OF VIEW SHOT OF THE YOUNG GIRL WILL BE USED AS THE MAIN ASPECT OF THE POSTER, SO PEOPLE CAN RELATE AND RECOGNISE THE MAIN CHARACTER WITHIN THE FILM ITSELF. IT IS A POINT OF VIEW SHOT SO THE VIEWER FEEL LIKE THEY'RE LOOKING DIRECTLY TO HER WHIHC WILL HOPEFULLY CREATE SUSPENSE. THE TITLE 'HEAR MY CRY' IS RATHER SMALL AT NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE, IN A HAND-WRITTEN FONT TO MAKE IT LOOK DISTINCTIVE FROM OTHER VARIOUS SIMPLE POSTERS IN THE MEDIA INDUSTRY. THE COLOUR SCHEME OF MY WHOLE POSTER WILL BED BLACK, RED AND WHITE, WHICH RELATES TO A HORROR/THRILLER THEME. THE TAG LINE WILL BE IN WHITE, ARIAL - BOLD TO MAKE IT STAND OUT AND GIVE THE VIEWER A HINT TO WHAT MAY OCCUR WITHIN THE FILM ITSELF. LASTLY THE CREDITS ARE IN WHITE AT THE THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AS THEY ARE IMPORTANT BUT NOT THE MAIN ASPECT THAT APPEARS ON THE PAGE TO THE VIEWER FIRST.

Front Cover, Magazine

THIS IS MY FINAL PRODUCT OF MY FRON COVER OF A FILM MAGAZINE FEATURING MY FILM, CALLED 'HEAR MY CRY'. I USED A WELL-KNOWN FILM MAGAZINE COMPANY, 'TOTAL FILM' SO THE TARGET AUDIENCE ARE ABLE TO RECOGNISE THE MAGAZINE. I HAD A DARK BACKGROUND OF BLACK TO CREATE TENSION FOR THE VIEWER AS THE GENRE OF MY FILM IS THRILLER/HORROR. I USED THE SAME IMAGE SHOT AS I DID ON MY POSTER TO HELP THE AUDIENCE RELATE AND CONNECT WITH MY FILM, THE SHOT IS A MEDIUM POINT OF VIEW, SO THE AUDIENCE FEEL LIKE THEY'RE DIRECTLY LOOKING AT THE YOUNG GIRL. sHE HAS DARK MAKEUP TO CREATE A ROUGH, DIRTY LOOK LIKE SHE HAS BEEN IN A PARTICULAR SITUATION. A SYMBOL IS PRESENT NEAR THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER CONTAINING A MAIN ASPECT THAT IS PRESENT WITHIN THE MAGAZINE TO HOPEFULLY AGAIN, HELP VIEWERS WANT TO BUY THE MAGAZINE. ALL THE HEADLINES 'EXTRA!', 'FIRST LOOKS' AND 'REVIEW' ARE IN ROCKWELL-BOLD TO STAND OUT THE MOST AND SHOW WHAT ELSE OCCURS WITHIN THE MAGAZINE.  THE COLOUR SCHEME OF MY MAGAZINE FRONT COVER IS MAINLY WHITE, RED AND BLACK TO CREATE AN EERY ATMOSPHERE BUT ALSO A PROFESSIONAL MANNOR FOR THE AUDIENCE TO RECOGNISE EASILY AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH. THE TITLE OF MY FILM 'HEAR MY CRY' IS JUST BELOW THE MIDDLE OF THE PAGE TO RESEMBLE THE YOUNG GIRL IN THE FILM HERSELF, NEEDS AND SEEKS HELP AND IS SHOUTING FOR SOMEONE TO HELP HELP BUT NOT MANY PEOPLE MAY SEE OR HEAR HER. THE 'WORLD EXCLUSIVE' JUST ABOVE THE MAIN TITLE SHOWS THAT THE FILM ITSELF IS GOING TO BE BIG AND THAT HOPEFULLY IT WILL MAKE VIEWERS WANT TO GET THE FULL EXPERIENCE BY VISITING THE CINEMA AND VIEWING THIS SPECIFIC FILM. THE TAGLINE OF 'A DECADE IN THE MAKING' SYMBOLISES THAT A LOT OF WORK HAS BEEN PUT INTO MAKING THIS PARTICULAR FILM AND IS LIKELY TO PAY OFF AND BE HUGE WITHIN THE FILM INDUSTRY, SUPPORTED BY THE SLOGAN 'THE WORLDS GREATEST MOVIE HAS FINALLY ARRIVED'.
